Jon Sinclair

Jon Sinclair, having the experience as a tournament player himself, and now teaching the mental game as well as the physical swing; has an intimate understanding of the inter-connectivity of mind and body as it relates to golf. Always looking for new answers and keeping up with the latest technology to help his clients, Jon is a student of the game of golf as well as a teacher.

Jon teaches a wide variety of players from amateur to professional, junior to senior, and will customize his approach to his client's needs. If you have a swing instructor and only need help on the mental side of the game, Jon will work with you (and your instructor) to help you improve that aspect of your game.

Sinclair Golf Training Center at Texas Star Golf CourseHe is a Certified Level 2 TPI Fitness and Level 2 TPI Golf Biomechanists Instructor. He is a certified club fitter with the major club manufacturers, and certified on the SAM PuttLab and SAM BalanceLab. Jon is one of three Master GolfPsych Instructors in the world, trained by Dr. Deborah Graham and Jon Stabler of GolfPsych.

His teaching philosophy is that everyone is unique. A person does not have to have a picture perfect swing as long as it is efficient and the movements made will not cause injury. He will adapt and customize the teaching to the student, not make the student conform to a rigid teaching method.

Jason McCray,  is a 35-year old Wichita Falls, Texas native. He developed a love for the game of golf at the age of 12 and began working at his first golf job in 1988 where his only compensation was golf playing privileges. He played on his high school golf team where he was captain for 3 years out of his 4 years. He turned professional 1 year out of high school and began teaching youth golf clinics in the summer of 1993. He continued working as a Wichita Falls area golf professional for 7 years at 3 area golf courses, while developing a passion for teaching. By 1999, Jason’s clientele base was over 100 students. That year, not only did he obtain PGA credentials in July, he also conducted 697 individual lessons.

In July of 2000, he was hired by Robert Singletary, Head Golf Professional at Las Colinas Country Club in Irving, Texas. Jason considers this a turning point in his career as he learned from Robert, who is a master club fitter and a great golf instructor. In 2001, Robert introduced Jason to a well-known Dallas based golf instructor and author Eben Dennis. Eben recognized Jason’s talents in teaching golf and encouraged him to begin teaching his approach.

Jason estimates that as of mid 2009, he has taught over 5,000 golf lessons in his 16 year career as an instructor. Jason currently resides in Arlington, Texas with his family. Jason is the VP of Operations of A Shred 2 Pieces and teaches at Sinclair's Golf Training Center at Texas Star in Euless, TX.

 Carla Cantu

Carla E. Cantu, is a native West Texan from San Angelo, Texas. Carla is a self-starter and entrepreneur who brings a passion for the game of golf with many multiple types of skills and purpose. Since the beginning her foundation has been deeply rooted in a structure of basic core fundamentals which she has developed into a deeper level.

After strong competition and success in the USA and Mexico gaining Jr. PGA and USGA amateur titles, Carla received a 4 year scholarship to Houston Baptist University and played collegiate golf while majoring in Business Management. The LPGA was next and she managed to experience the tour for seven years. Moving on from the Mid-Atlantic Coast and down to the Central Florida area, she shifted her focus to the PGA & LPGA club profession. Understanding the mechanics of the golf swing and teaching them to others has been enlightening to her experiences.

Nominated as a top 100 female teacher in 2007, and former Senior Teaching golf professional for the McCord Golf Academy in Kissimmee, Florida, rated by Golf Magazine top 25 Schools in America. Carla brings over 13 years of experience and has a deep passion for teaching. A simple approach and philosophy state, “If you love the game then do it, but if you get frustrated all of the time come see me. Remember we all get frustrated some of the time, But frustration leads to bad swings. I want to teach you to have fun and enjoy the game. If you are having fun then there is no room for frustration therefore producing lower scores.”

Carla is available on a seasonal schedule; she will be at Sinclair’s Golf Training Center at Texas Star in Euless, Texas in early Spring 2010.
